Connie Yerigan serves as St. Philip’s Director of Faith Formation and has been part of the St. Philip’s family for 24 years, including nearly 10 years on staff. She has the joy of walking alongside children, youth, families, and adults as they grow in faith, helping people of all ages discover God’s love and build meaningful connections within the church community.
Connie is the proud mom of two amazing adult daughters, Maddie and Allie, and fur-babies Oliver, a black cat with a big personality; Chandler, her faithful Labradoodle companion; and Penny, an energetic mini Australian Labradoodle puppy. When she’s not at church, you’ll often find her quilting, baking sourdough bread, crafting, taking photos, or spending time with the people she loves.
After the death of her husband, Dave, just over four years ago, Connie found herself on a new and unexpected journey. Since then, she has earned her Grief Coach certification and returned to school at St. Catherine University, where she is majoring in Psychology and preparing for graduate studies in Holistic Health. Through both her personal and professional experiences, she has developed a deep passion for walking alongside others through their grief and helping them find hope and healing in the midst of life’s challenges.
Along the way, Connie found love again with her partner, Johnny. Having both experienced the loss of their spouses, they share a unique understanding that has brought them together in meaningful ways. Together, they have learned that grief and hope can coexist, and that it is possible to carry love forward while embracing new beginnings.
What Connie loves most about St. Philip’s is the caring and supportive community. It is a place where people truly show up for one another and share God’s love in meaningful ways every day. Her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 2:8, reminds her of the gift of God’s grace: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.” In addition to her work at St. Philip’s, Connie serves on the board of Healing Hearts Connection and volunteers at Family Grief Camp. A fun fact about Connie is that she has 34 tattoos, most of which she designed herself.
