Music

St. Philip’s has a notable musical tradition, with the basic mission of praising God through voice and instrument.  Here is a place to worship through musical excellence, while experiencing wonderful community.  With vocal and handbell choirs, the contemporary worship band, and a need for occasional instrumentalists and substitute organists/pianists, there is sure to be a place for every musician.

Bells of Praise
This dedicated volunteer group participates monthly in both worship services.  They are also involved in special music events including the Christmas Concert and Music Sunday. Many techniques are included in their ringing, using a full five-octave set of bells and three-octave set of hand chimes.  The Bells of Praise welcomes additional ringers at any time during the season.  Requirements include a love of music and an interest in fellowship. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir at St. Philip’s has been an integral part of St. Philip’s for as long as the church has been in existence. The choir sings at the 9:00 a.m. service and occasionally at the 10:30 a.m. service. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  All singers are welcome. Contact the Sanctuary Choir Director, Adam Miller, at AdamM@splcmn.org or 763-571-1500, ext. 103.

Worship Band

The Worship Band rehearses on Tuesday evenings and leads worship every Sunday at the 10:30 am Contemporary service.

If you sing, play guitar or another stringed instrument, percussion, or a wind instrument, didgeridoo, comb, or anything else, make your presence known!

Our desire is that the Worship Band be an organic product of St. Philip’s unique musical personality. We want to use what gifts you offer well! You may contribute occasionally or more often; we will work with your schedule.

For more information contact Worship Band Leader, Cheri Sykes, at CheriS@splcmn.org or 763-571-1500, ext. 103.
