Food & Clothing Shelf

Food & Clothing Shelf Mission: To feed, clothe, and nurture our neighbors in need.

As part of the ELCA World Hunger effort, St. Philip’s expanded the existing food pantry in 2017 into what is now the St. Philip’s Food & Clothing Shelf. Free emergency food, clothing, hygiene items, and crisis information are provided in a dignified, faith based, safe, friendly, and healthy environment where all are welcome.

We are now in our newly expanded space in Rooms 16 and 17, with entrance through Door 3.

Hours of operation:

  • Tuesdays: 10:00 – 11:30 am
  • Wednesdays: 5:00 – 6:30 pm
  • Fridays: 10:00 – 11:30 am

**The Food and Clothing Shelf will be closed Tuesday, December 26, 2023**

Visitors can receive two bags of food and one bag of clothing per family/household every 30 days. Please bring a valid ID. (You won’t be turned away if you don’t have one.)

Clothing Shelf Special Note – To Our Generous Donators

We want to thank you for your generous donations to the St. Philip’s Clothing Shelf. We have had so many positive comments regarding the quality and the care of the garments donated. It presents a real sense of dignity for those we serve. You have been Christ to so many and it is appreciated.

We respectfully ask that you donate clothing only.

The type of clothing we cannot use; men’s suits and sport coats, uniforms, stained and torn clothing, and coats/clothes that need to be dry cleaned.

Please do not donate toys, books, pillows, suitcases, backpacks, or any household items. We do not have storage for these items.

If you have questions regarding items to be donated, please call Judy Greer [763-350-8755] or Karen Block [763-234-6915].

Volunteer Opportunities: If interested, please contact Bob, Judy or our church office

St. Philip’s Food & Clothing Shelf are looking for volunteers who would…

  • Work with co-directors (Bob Becker & Judy Greer) on computer developed publicity.

  • Work with Judy Greer to occasionally purchase Men’s and Women’s socks, underwear and shoes. We currently have one person volunteering but many hands lighten the load.

  • Work with Bob Becker to purchase occasional items from Dollar Tree and Target that are not available for purchase on our 2nd Harvest orders.
